Have you noticed my recent obsession with glitter? It’s because I finally took the leap into learning how to use casting resin. I love it. I also experimented with different compounds for creating my own silicone molds and found one that performs exactly as I want it to (how rare is that??).
I’ve tried a couple of brands of resin, and I think I’ve found one I’m happy with. I’m using “fine” glitter, but I think I’ll get a bit of the chunky stuff to mix into some of the colors in the future. I love the flexibility of making my own mixes! I’ve had my frustrating moments too, with both the silicone compounds and the resins - I’ll make a more thorough post on my processes for creating molds and mixing resin, if anyone is interested to know the details.
This past weekend, I made a few new meeple colors: rose-pink, teal, and silver. I can make any of my standard size glitter meeples into necklaces or earrings. If you have a custom request, feel free to contact me on twitter, etsy, or send me a message here on tumblr!
What I’m most excited about…I can soon offer sets of 8 standard size glitter meeples in a color of your choice for $25! Bust them out the next time you play Carcassonne. All the other players will be totally jelly.
